“There is no right or wrong way to tell your improved story. It can be about your past, present, or future experiences. The only criterion that is important is that you be conscious of your intent to tell a better-feeling, improved version of your story. Telling many good-feeling short stories throughout your day will change your point of attraction. Just remember that the story you tell is the basis of your life. So tell it the way you want it to be.”—Abraham-Hicks
“It is natural that by knowing what you do not want, you are able to clarify what you do want; and there is nothing wrong with identifying a problem before beginning to look for a solution. But many people, over time, become problem oriented rather than solution oriented, and in their examination and explanation of the problem, they continue the perpetuation of the problem. That which is like unto itself, is drawn—so tell the story you want to live and you will eventually live it.”—
It seems to me that most of what the Law of Attraction proposes, is the same idea as how magic works, at least in terms of setting your intentions and how you focus your energy. Since I’ve started listening to their audiobooks my magical practice has expanded in a huge way, and I’m bringing more of this into my daily life. Make every single day magical!
The Week Ahead by C.A. Brooks (Mercury Retrograde, Grand Trine and Synergy Edition!)
Mercury Retrograde starts this week, but we’re also moving into a Grand Trine. This is a super interesting time astrologically. Thought I’d share with you a few thoughts from this week’s 12house Power Peek newsletter, because I found it incredibly inspirational.
And really, it starts off with a A-Team reference, what is there not to love?
March 12 - March 18
‘I love it when a plan comes together’. This often-quoted line from the 1980’s TV drama ‘The A Team’ says it all. This is the last week of the Western Astrology year, (the Sun moves into Aries next Monday) and we’ve saved some of the best for the last.
There’s excitement at the cosmic dance when Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Pluto align in the practical and grounded earth signs. Think Productivity and Synergy! We haven’t had this kind of positive and collaborative energy among the planets for a while now, so drink it in. It’s particularly powerful and unusual, because the planets are distributed among all three of the earth signs - Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. Geometrically it forms a triangle which in astrology we call a Grand Trine. The signs in an element get along like family (functioning supportive families that is!) They get together to present a united front to the world. It’s not that unusual to have planets in one or two signs in an element at the same time, but when all three signs of an element are activated - it’s magic.
The earth element represents the physical world - our bodies, our environment and the things we understand with our physical senses. Collectively they represent our need for stability and to acquire stuff (Taurus), to discriminate, analyze, categorize and function efficiently (Virgo) and to be productive and build a reputation (Capricorn). All three signs will be activated next week through Pluto which seeks to transform, Jupiter seeking expansion and improvement, Venus looking for love and beauty and Mars looking for effective strategies. Put these all together and you have a synergy of power to accomplish most anything you can imagine.
James Wanless describes synergy as ‘the ability to bring resources together to create an alliance of power and success.’ I could not have said it better. This energy proves the whole is bigger and more powerful than the sum of the parts. This is the energy of cooperation, collaboration and partnership. Have you been dreaming about or working on putting together a project, relationship, new career, business, home, or special interest group? Good timing! The pieces are coming together. Watch for the signs and confirmation of your thoughts manifesting on the physical plane.
This week, we also find Mercury - the messenger planet of thinking and communication - starting a 3-week retrograde pattern (3/12 - 4/3). A cartoon - compliments of 12Listen Advisor Kay Dragon - explains it better than I ever could. Here’s how the story goes.
'A young monk arrives at the monastery. His assignment is to help hand copy the old canons and laws of the church. He notices, however, all of the monks are copying from copies, not from the original manuscript. So, the new monk goes to the head abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up! In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies. The head monk, says, 'We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son.'
He goes down into the dark caves underneath the monastery where the original manuscripts are held as archives in a locked vault that hasn’t been opened for hundreds of years. Hours go by and nobody sees the old abbot. So, the young monk gets worried and goes down to look for him. He sees the abbot banging his head against the wall and wailing. ‘We missed the R ! We missed the R ! We missed the R !’ His forehead was bruised and he was crying uncontrollably. The young monk asks the old abbot, ‘What’s wrong, father?’ With a choking voice, the old abbot replies, ‘The word was… celebRate !!!
Those tiny details can make all the difference in the world! I’m willing to bet, the mistake was identified when Mercury was retrograde. When we take the time to slow down and review where we have been, we are able to see things with a fresh perspective, correct previous errors, and move ahead with more confidence. Let’s use the next three weeks to focus on the ‘r’ [sparrowqueen: and all words with the re: prefix]- review, redo, revise, repair, return, reawaken, reconsider, reassess, recharge, reclaim, reconcile, reconnect, reflect, regroup, rehabilitate, renew, restore, and reunite.
“My primary relationship is with myself- all others are mirrors of it. As I learn to love myself, I automatically receive the love and appreciation that I desire from others. If I am committed to myself and to living my truth, I will attract others with equal commitment. My willingness to be intimate with my own deep feelings creates the space for intimacy with another. As I learn to love myself, I receive the love I desire from others.”—Shakti Gawain
